It is already August, the first holidays have already started and for some they are even over. At many companies you notice that things are often a lot quieter than normal. With a bit of luck, you can now busy yourself with things that you normally wouldn't get around to. We are of course happy to help you with the tips and advice below!

Business and 1. Clean up your archive

Throw away what you no longer need and store important items in folders and boxes. Archive alphabetically so that you can always easily find what you are looking for. You often only notice how much unnecessary stuff you have collected when you are done and have everything neatly organized. It will give you peace of mind and has a positive effect on the working atmosphere.

2. Evaluate

Consider for yourself what has not gone well in the past period and how this could be done differently. Why did this not work according to plan and how did you solve this at the time? And why should it work in a different way? Of course, also ask yourself what went well recently. Why does this way of working work so well? Can we also apply this tactic elsewhere and does it have the desired effect? If you have received feedback from colleagues and/or customers, be sure to use it.

3.Apply innovation

Are the products/services you offer still attractive today? Are you still interesting for the customer? Can you offer what they are looking for? Check whether your products/services are still popular in the market. It is important to go along with the changes that happen around you. Stay critical and apply innovation.

4. Maintaining business relationships

It is important to stay in touch with your business relations. Show them from time to time that they are much appreciated. You can do this by having a pleasant telephone conversation with them, but also by inviting them for one enjoyable lunch. This is also a great initiative with which you can breathe new life into an old relationship.

5. Last but not least – Take your rest

If possible, take a day of rest. On this day, don't focus on your work, but mainly on yourself. Do things that you normally wouldn't get around to. It is good and necessary to sometimes not be productive with the company. The holiday period is the ideal opportunity for this. Make sure the battery is charged again so that you can use it for the rest of the year.

In this blog we have given you tips on how to handle your business during the holiday period. Are you looking for a way to bring more peace to your business life? Then take a look at the training  time Management and find your balance between work and private life.

The importance of succession

Many sales opportunities are lost, not due to a bad conversation, but due to inadequate follow-up. After a good conversation, the customer is enthusiastic, but that enthusiasm quickly fades if there is no follow-up. Fast, personal follow-up is therefore essential. Send a summary of the conversation and the agreed next steps within 24 hours.

Make follow-up a regular part of your work routine. Schedule it in your calendar, use a CRM system to maintain an overview, and ensure you keep every appointment. Reliability in follow-up is one of the strongest signals you can send to a client. It shows that you work professionally and that the client can count on you.
