From strategy to acting jointly
As a management team, learn to choose a clear direction and realize it with clear requests and commitments."
About Merijn de Jager
Communication and Management Trainer
Drawing on over 25 years of experience as an advisor, entrepreneur, commercial director, and trainer, Merijn knows what it takes to translate ambitions into results. He focuses on the intersection of strategy, execution, and behavior. In doing so, he helps leaders and teams reduce complex issues to their essence: the combination of business content and the human side of collaboration, behavior, and leadership. This creates insight into the core of an issue and clarifies the steps required to make progress again.
Merijn combines his experience in organizational development with insights from the Scaling Up methodology, systemic work, NLP, and Flores' communication theory. His style is direct, sharp, and inquisitive. By listening carefully and asking targeted questions, he quickly uncovers patterns that accelerate or hinder progress. From there, clarity emerges regarding what is needed to actually realize ambitions.
“Getting Strategy Done”
From strategy to joint action
Successfully executing the strategy runs through a web of communication: clear requests and commitments that are fulfilled.
Many management teams devote considerable attention to the organization's direction. Yet, in practice, noise often arises. Priorities shift, new opportunities demand attention, and decisions are interpreted differently. The result is that energy becomes fragmented and execution lags behind the ambitions.
In his training sessions, Merijn explores why some teams consistently execute their plans, while others get stuck in good intentions. He has participants examine the choices they make, the agreements they make with each other, and how they hold one another accountable when an agreement is not honored. In doing so, he works from his own 3F model: Focus, Flow, and Fun. Focus helps teams make clear choices. Flow arises when agreements are clear and people do what they say. Fun is the enjoyment that arises when people work well together. For strategy execution takes place via a web of communication: clear requests and commitments that are fulfilled.
