Read the other person. Send the conversation.
People often reveal what they are going to decide before they even realize it themselves.
About Stephan Duin
Sales, Communication, and Management Trainer
Stephan Duin teaches professionals to see what happens during conversations before it is explicitly stated. He focuses on the signals that are often overlooked: a hesitation behind an objection, a question that means something else, or a decision that has almost been made.
His background ranges from sales and entrepreneurship to executive and interim roles within media and technology. Additionally, he gained valuable experience with the fire department and the KNRM, where fast and clear communication can be decisive. This combination of practical experience and behavioral knowledge forms the basis of his training courses.
On the lifeboat, you learn to see what someone needs before they say it. At the table with a client, it works exactly the same way.
See what is really happening
From recognizing signals to targeted questions, stronger advice, and better decisions.
In Stephan's training sessions, participants learn to see what happens beneath the surface of a conversation. They recognize doubts behind objections, discover the need behind a question, and have a better understanding of when the time is right to offer advice or discuss a decision. In doing so, they work with situations from their own practice.
Stephan demonstrates how language, timing, attitude, and behavior together determine how a conversation unfolds. Participants learn to interpret signals and respond accordingly, making conversations less dependent on gut feeling and giving them more direction.
The result is visible in daily practice. Participants conduct conversations with more calm and focus, build trust faster, and reach agreements that hold up. This makes client, selection, and advisory meetings more effective and predictable.
