1. Active listening
Active listening is the foundation of every good conversation technique. It means not only hearing what someone says, but also understanding what lies behind the words. You give your full attention, ask clarifying questions, and summarize what you have heard. This sounds simple, but in practice, it is difficult. Many managers are already formulating their own answer while the other person is still speaking.
