Dashboards measure.
Behavior and leadership
determine the success.
Make numbers concrete: translate data into meaning, meaning into behavior, and behavior into sustainable results.
About Roy den Burger
KPIs and dashboards are tools; behavior and leadership determine success.
Roy helps organizations make commercial results predictable by focusing on what really matters: behavior, leadership, and the quality of the conversation.
In a market where growth is less of a given, margins are under pressure, and sales cycles are lengthening, Roy observes that success depends less and less on external circumstances and more on internal execution power. The difference is not made in dashboards, but in what happens daily in conversations with customers and in the way teams are managed.
With a background in the army and aviation, and over fifteen years of experience in leadership roles within retail, Roy knows better than anyone how to motivate people and enable teams to perform under pressure. That combination of discipline, practical experience, and people-oriented leadership forms the basis of his approach.
In a data-driven sales environment, it is not your dashboard but your leadership that determines your results.
Focusing on what really matters
Do dashboards lead your team, or do you lead the numbers?
An important theme in his work is behavior-oriented management. Roy makes organizations aware that KPIs and dashboards are not ends in themselves, but means to provide direction. Results are not achieved by chasing numbers, but by improving behavior.
With his DEAL approach, he brings that translation to life:
D – Data: What data do we need? What do we want to measure? Which dashboards do we use?
E – Evaluation: What exactly do these figures mean and how are they measured?
A – Action: No longer measuring, but specifically improving what people do in their daily practice.
L – Leadership: Leadership ensures that new behavior is sustained and becomes part of the culture.
Roy makes insight concrete, behavior open for discussion, and results predictable. In doing so, he helps teams not only perform better but, above all, grow more sustainably.
